What is a DV Tort?
A lot of folks, including lawyers, don’t know that California has a domestic violence tort statute. That means many survivors of domestic violence have no idea that they can obtain economic justice and hold their batterers financially accountable in civil court!
Since Alipato Project is the first and only nonprofit organization to provide direct legal representation to resisters of domestic violence in tort actions against their batterers, we published a DV Tort Primer.
